Registration procedure
For EC08, we adopt the idea of Team Captain. Every country names one and he's responsible for all players in his country. He will organize the money transfer of starting fees and invite the players to EC08. The Captain is the link between player and tournament staff and the idea is to make the handling of the process easier for both: the tournament staff and the players in each country.

Every country has to name a Team Captain by 1st of January 2008. The Team Captain will enter the player names for his or her country into the tournament system. As soon as he did so, the players will receive a invitation to EC08 and are asked to complete the registration online by themselves (confirmation, arrival, departure, food, ...).
In May 2008, the online registration for wildcards opens. Everyone interested in a wildcard who did not already qualify is able to apply online.
The process of naming the competitors is divided into three phases as follows:
Phase 1: January - April
Team Captain will invite the players via the tournament system.
Payment of fees to be done by end of phase 1 through Captain.
Phase 2: May - June
Untaken and unpaid spots are redistributed to countries, second invitation of players by Captain.
Payment of fees to be done by end of phase 2 through Captain.
Online application for wildcards.
Phase 3: June - July
Untaken and unpaid spots turn into wildcards. Wildcard players receive their invitation. Direct payment from player to EC08 bank account.
Payments
The player fees have to be paid in advance. Lunch and other options to be paid at tournament check in.
However, it's possible to pay spots in advance where no player has been named for. The naming of players may then happen later, but the risk of less players than paid spots is taken by the countries.
The Captain will pay the complete sum to EC bank account. How the payment inside the country is organized (including deadlines) is up to the Team Captain.
